A recent blog post published by the BitTorrent Foundation revealed lucrative details regarding BitTorrent (BTT) airdrops for TRON (TRX) holders. The airdrop is set to start on February 11, 2019, and will benefit both TRX and BTT holders until the year 2025.

BitTorrent’s BTT 6-Year Airdrop Plan

The first airdrop is scheduled for February 11, 2019, when the BitTorrent foundation will reward TRON (TRX) holders with BitTorrent (BTT) once Tron’s block height reaches 6.6 million. The airdrop will consist of 10,890,000,000 BitTorrent (BTT), corresponding to 1.1% of the total circulating supply.

Following this initial airdrop, on March 11, 2019 through February 11, 2020, TRON (TRX) holders will be rewarded with an additional 11,880,000,000 BTT, accounting for an additional 1.2% of the total supply.

Following this airdrop, on March 11, 2020 through February 11, 2021, the TRON foundation will airdrop 12,870,000,000 BTT to TRX holders, corresponding to 1.3% of the total circulating supply.

This airdrop process will continuously repeat itself until February 2025, with an increase of 0.1% per year, until it reaches 1.7% in 2025.

This airdrop process is highly beneficial to long-term TRON (TRX) holders, as it incentivizes investors to hold their TRX and accumulate more. Therefore, less TRX will be flooding the market and the price should increase as a result.

In addition to the 6-year BTT airdrop plan, the BitTorrent Foundation will also airdrop an additional 99,990,000,000 BTT during both online and offline events that are yet to be announced. This airdropped BTT supply will account for 10.1% of the total circulating supply.

How to Receive BTT Airdrops

If you are holding TRX in an official wallet relaying on TRON’s network, you will be eligible for BTT airdrops corresponding to the amount of TRX you hold. There is no minimum amount of TRX you must hold in order to be eligible for the BTT airdrops, and the BTT tokens will be automatically distributed to you.

In addition to holding TRX in an official wallet relaying on Tron’s network, users will be able to claim BTT tokens held on various exchanges supporting the airdrops. All exchanges supporting the airdrops will be listed on BitTorrent’s official website and social media channels.

Confirmed Exchanges Supporting the BTT Airdrop

There will likely be an array of popular crypto exchanges supporting the BTT airdrop, as TRON (TRX) is a very popular cryptocurrency supported by numerous popular exchanges. A few of the most popular crypto exchanges that have already announced their support are OKEx, Binance, and Huobi.

All of these exchanges have stated that they will be taking a snapshot of the TRON network at block 6,600,000 on February 11. The exchanges will then carry out the airdrop to all the TRX holders involved in the snapshot at block 6,600,000.

A list of confirmed exchanges and wallets thus far supporting the BTT airdrop can be seen below. However, keep in mind that this list may change as more wallets and exchanges announce their support. We will try and keep it updated for you as best we can.

If you live in the U.S. or China, you will get no BTT airdrop. Read the fine print under the official announcement. Dropping my TRX soon.

My Tron is currently stored on my Leger Nano S. In order to be part of the drop do I move my Tron to Binance, a Tron Wallet or can I leave it on my Ledger Nano S?

It’s still not clear. A simple yes or no answer is called for here. If my TRX is stored on my Nano S, will I still qualify for the airdrop?
