TRON Network Sees Massive Boost in Transactions

The TRON (TRX) project, a competitor to Ethereum which intends to be a home for dapps, has recently achieved 2 notable achievements: recording just over 2.5 million transactions in a single day, as well welcoming over 30,000 new wallet addresses.

This news follows the launch of TRON’s new exchange TRC20 last week, a marketplace for tokens launched on the TRON platform.

It is likely that this has contributed to the great number of transactions on the network. The exchange is one of many projects that is being built by the TRON development team.

Another noteworthy effort is Project Atlas, a combined effort with Bittorrent to incentivize its users to seed data. TRON’s new betting dapp TRONbet is also involving seeing high volumes of transactions.

TRON founder Justin Sun also announced that TRON’s network transaction fees has been lowered to a negligible value. It currently costs 0.1% on average to make a transaction.

Together, these developments indicate a great increase in the usability and performance of the platform, which is highly necessary for the project to match Sun’s bold claims.

TRON Attempting to Overthrow Ethereum

Tron has been in the news for several reasons in the past few weeks, with Sun being vocal with his opinions on Twitter.

Vitalik Buterin has previously slighted the TRON project by calling out its aggressive marketing tactics and allegations of plagiarism. This time, however, TRON, continuing to rail against the big name projects, said that TRON would “come to the rescue” of Ethereum and EOS.

Sun stated that “TRON will build a fund to rescue #ETH and #EOS developers from the collapse of their platform as long as those developers migrate their Dapps to #TRON”.

Indeed, dapps have been moving to the TRON network.

TRON has caused a fair share of controversy, and investors generally sit in one of two camps: in fervent support of the project, or ridiculing it for its outlandish claims to overtake Ethereum. Sun has gone so far as to invite Ethereum dapp developers to move to TRON, and has said that that an ETCDEV has contacted TRON.

Mostly recently, a new game for the TRON mainnet called TRONblock has been released onto the mainnet, which can only help TRON’s cause.

Even more notably, TRON has decided adopt the zk-SNARKs protocol in a bid to offer privacy, at around the same time the project jumped into the top 10 coins by market cap.
