Justin Sun on TRON Hard Fork: “Without Multi-Signature, There Will Not Be Institutional Investors.”

Justin Sun, the founder of Tron (TRX) and BitTorrent Token (BTT) as well as the CEO of BitTorrent Inc and the Tron Foundation, was recently featured in an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session on Binance’s English language Telegram group.

The AMA covered an array of topics regarding the BitTorrent Token (BTT), BitTorrent Speed, future developments, and the Tron hard fork that was just recently successfully completed.

Regarding Tron’s hard fork, Sun expressed the significance of this upgrade and later shared his excitement over Twitter as well.

Tron’s Hard Fork Leading to the Odyssey 3.5 Upgrade

On February 28, 2019, Tron underwent a major hard fork, which will lead to the rollout of the highly anticipated Odyssey 3.5 upgrade. The hard fork was successful, resulting in a number of sophisticated features being added to Tron’s major blockchain upgrade.

The first, and arguably most important, feature is the support of multi-signature addresses and account management, which is necessary for institutional investment.

As for the other notable features included in today’s hard fork, dynamic energy adjustment to real-time network performance was successfully implemented, the Tron mainnet received a 50% performance improvement, and a better virtual machine safety and events server for dapps was implemented.

Upon the successful execution of Tron’s hard fork, Marcus Zhao, the head of Tron public chain division, expressed his excitement over Twitter and provided links to the Odyssey v3.5 GitHub page.

Prior to the hard fork’s completion, Sun spoke about the upgrade extensively during the recent Telegram-based AMA.

Speaking about the upgrade, Sun said:

“This MainNet upgrade is a significant one for TRON since last December. Previous upgrades were mainly for setting up the network, while this upgrade is the first major improvement of the network performance.”

Adding to this, Sun spoke about the importance of multi-sig for institutional investors, stating that it will allow investors to better manage Tron (TRX) and Tron-based cryptocurrencies with multi-layer procedures.

Explaining in-depth, Sun said:

“Multi-signature is essential to institutional investors and investors with high net worth because institutional investors usually use institutionalized approaches to keep cryptocurrency assets, which are managed by multiple parties and with multi-layer procedures. Therefore, multi-signature allows multi-layer management of cryptocurrencies. It’s fair to say that without multi-signature, there will not be institutional investors.”
