SwissBorg Merges Wealth Management and Blockchain

SwissBorg’s objective is to create a democratic, decentralized and professional ecosystem to manage your portfolio of crypto assets.

– SwissBorg Whitepaper

On December 7 2017, SwissBorg launched their ICO to the public. The initial soft cap was set at US$5 million at the price of $0.10 per CHSB token (SwissBorg Network Token). They successfully raised US$10 million within the first 12 hours, with no signs of slowing down. The ICO is scheduled to run until January 10, 2018.

The success of this ICO has come as a surprise, but in retrospect it shouldn’t have. SwissBorg has already been featured in Forbes, Entrepreneur, The Merkle, and is one of the first adopters of the revolutionary concept of C-Shares.

There are a lot of people talking about this ICO, and here’s why.

What is SwissBorg?

SwissBorg is a decentralized wealth management platform based in Lausanne, Switzerland with international teams in both Japan and Canada.

SwissBorg’s mission is:

[to] promote community-centric values, where individuals, institutions and DAOs (Decentralized Autonomous Organizations) will benefit from a democratic, transparent, and trustworthy, investment platform.

The company offers a wealth management solution which gives token holders the ability to choose the direction in which the network will develop. The organization is a DAO which will be in charge of issuing CHSB tokens to the holders. These holders will have voting and economic rights in the network. Token holders will be entitled to future revenue gains of the DAO as well.

The SwissBorg investment team is planning on actively trading in the cryptocurrency market with best-of-breed technologies (blockchain & AI). The company is managed by an international team with over 90 years of cumulative experience between them, with varied backgrounds ranging from private banking, hedge-fund management, and algorithmic and quantitative trading to Wall Street.

How SwissBorg Works

Named CHSB, the SwissBorg Network Token will not be used as a medium of exchange.

Instead, the CHSB is a multi-utility token used to participate in the SwissBorg investment ecosystem. It will never be used as a currency such as Bitcoin.

The core benefits of participation is that you will be able to influence investor actions and you will be rewarded by decisions based on market value increases.

Two Key Advantages of SwissBorg

SwissBorg has a clear business strategy; it plans to position itself as a company with both blockchain and non-blockchain assets, with the objective of offering investment solutions that suit both. They have strategic partners and advisers with decades of relevant experience who will be actively involved in the investment process. More details can be found in their
whitepaper.

SwissBorg Investment Strategy

The project will utilize a new type of open protocol utility called “proof of meritocracy”, with the aim of revolutionizing the wealth management world.

A core feature of the CHSB token is that it will give holders the ability to influence the investments which are picked by the fund managers. CHSB tokens will be used to generate referendum tokens (RSB) which will then be used to vote on any referendums (changes). The voting power will be calculated based on the amount of CHSB tokens each user holds when the referendum announcement is made.

CHSB: The First Next-Generation Token

The current ICO model has some great advantages: it has allowed the “average” investor to participate in early funding which, in the past, was only available to a privileged few such as connected insiders, high net-worth individuals, and top clients in private banks.

But the ICO model is not without flaws. Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin thinks that about 90% of the ICOs today will fail, and that today’s ICO model needs to change. Buterin refers to the new ICO model as “tokens 2.0”.

Traditional stocks sold on the market, such as on the New York Stock Exchange, come with certain ownership privileges like voting rights and dividend payouts. Most of the tokens issued in today’s ICOs come with none of these whatsoever. Buterin believes that the tokens of the future will have many of the characteristics of traditional stocks.

The SwissBorg token (CHSB) is the first next-generation token (token 2.0) which will give its holders the features afforded to traditional stockholders. SwissBorg has heard the market’s cry and has answered.
