Not only has NEO reached numerous important development milestones, but they have also fostered a growing ecosystem of over 50 cryptocurrency projects and decentralized applications.

A Strong Network of NEO Communities
The 2-year mainnet anniversary would never have been possible if it weren’t for NEO’s invaluable communities.
At the time of writing, NEO has hundreds of thousands active community members spanning 8 social media platforms including; Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Discord, Medium, YouTube, WeChat, and Weibo.
In addition to the active communities on social media, other NEO communities consisting of developers and supporters have been created.

NEO Organizes Competitions to Celebrate Their 2-Year Anniversary
To celebrate their 2-year mainnet anniversary and to show their appreciation of the invaluable contributions of the NEO community, NEO Global Development (NGD) has announced the launch of a series of events and competitions.
Members of the NEO community will be able to compete with different skill sets for a chance to win GAS prizes.
- The first competition is for NEO community members to upload a short video of themselves to Twitter congratulating NEO on their 2-year mainnet anniversary. Community members will be awarded with varying amounts of GAS as they are selected via draw. Submissions close on October 19.
- The second competition involves community members writing articles regarding technical facets of the NEO network. NEO hopes this competition will encourage community members to foster and understand the blockchain technology behind NEO. Writers of the 20 best articles will be awarded $500 in GAS. Submissions close on December 17.
- The final competition announced by NEO will be a wallpaper design based on the theme “NEO in the Future”. NGD will select 16 winners with the best design and award them with varying amounts of GAS. Submissions close on November 7.
NEO Partners with Arqit to Work on Quantum Resistance
On October 17, 2018, NEO Global Development (NGD) has announced that they will be partnering with Arqit, a non-profit project that is working on quantum resistant technology.
This partnership was established to conduct research on quantum resistance to better develop the blockchain industry.
