Luxury Swiss Watches Now Come With Bitcoin Balance On The Dial

Luxury Swiss watchmaker, Franck Muller, renowned for their exclusive timepieces has created the world’s first Bitcoin (BTC) watch with a built-in cold storage system designed in partnership with Regal Assets, a global crypto assets company.

As seen in the video featured in the tweet above, the luxury watch is designed with a dial using the QR code of Satoshi’s Genesis Block address and has a laser etched public wallet address QR code that can be scanned to receive Bitcoin.

In a press release published by PR Newswire, Franck Muller’s regional director, Erol Baliyan had this to say about the timepiece:

“As a brand, we are a trend maker with a solid track record and are not shy when it comes to adopting innovation. Bitcoin as the millennial gold is the perfect marriage between innovation and personal choice.”

Each watch comes with deep cold storage and contains a sealed USB containing the private keys which are offline generated, non-deterministic TRNGs (True Random Numbers Generated).

Therefore, the wallet cannot be hacked and users can easily add Bitcoin to their wallet and check their balance directly through the timepiece’s dial.

This luxury timepiece is called Encrypto and will be a limited-edition series with only 500 units available for sale online.

Furthermore, future additions of the watch will reportedly feature the ability to store Ethereum (ETH) and other leading cryptocurrencies like Ripple’s XRP.
