Craig Wright Slaps Lawsuit Against Vitalik & Peter McCormack

Craig Wright, who has been stirring up a lot of controversy lately, has sent legal notices to Vitalik Buterin and podcaster Peter McCormack, threatening them with lawsuits for libel and defamation. Wright spoke to Bloomberg about his thoughts and recent actions.

The new action by Wright follows his decision to place a $5000 bounty on Hodlonaut, a Twitter user who has criticized Wright and called him “mentally ill.”

Buterin, meanwhile, has said that Wright has right to speak his mind, though others too have the “right to laugh at his stupidity.” The Ethereum co-founder has not responded to the letter or Bloomberg’s request for a comment. McCormack, has said that these has several lawyers that would help him on a pro bono basis.

Speaking about who he is targeting with these legal notices, Wright said,

I am mainly seeking people who have a perceived authority within the crypto currency industry so Vitalik & Peter McCormack. They have been sent the opening letter outlining the case already. This will give me the chance to prove my credentials in front of a judge rather than being judged by Twitter.

Wright Facing Resistance

The cryptocommunity has banded together to resist Wright’s actions. Morgan Creek’s Anthony Pompliano has called for exchanges to delist the BSV token, and several have already, including Binance.

WikiLeaks earlier this year tweeted that Wright had edited some posts from a few years earlier.
