BTC, ETH, XRP, LTC Get Shown On French TV During Prime Time For Millions Of Viewers

As France plans more regulations around cryptocurrency, one French television channel has given French viewers a brief introduction to cryptocurrency after they hosted a segment on their show where a lookalike of Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse was participating, and one question had to do with cryptocurrencies.

The show, called “Tout le monde veut prendre sa place”, is a game show where six participants face a champion to become the new one. The participants were asked – perhaps a good-natured tease in front of the lookalike –  “Which cryptocurrency invented in 2008 is the most used one in the world?”, with the answers being Bitcoin, Ether, Ripple, and Litecoin.

Whether or not the participant who looked like Garlinghouse was a coincidence or not, we don’t know.

Earlier this year, China had promoted the applications of blockchain on a state television channel that has a viewership of hundreds of millions. France itself has become a little more accommodating of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, having recently passed a law that would allow its $2 trillion insurance industry to invest in cryptocurrencies through specialized professional funds.
